The ADM boys soccer team will know the official blue print for a return trip back to the state tournament with the release of the 2017 substate tournament pairings.

Teams have already known the field comprising each substate group for some time now, but earlier this week exact pairings were established with the release of the 2017 substate pairings for each class. For the Tigers, they reside in substate seven this year against a more familiar field than they’ve faced in years past. 5 of the 6 teams in the substate seven field are Raccoon River Conference members, and the one non conference foe, PCM, is a team ADM faced and defeated in last years postseason run.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association used the records of each team through the first six weeks to determine exact pairings. The top two teams in each substate group become the beneficiaries of first round byes to start the postseason and for the now 10-4 Tigers, their record puts them in the number two spot while Perry has established the top spot in the field.

ADM not only earns a first round by in the postseason, but also earns themselves a home match up against the May 22nd victor between Carlisle and Bondurant-Farrar. ADM could potentially have a pair of conference rematches should Bondurant-Farrar win their match and should the Tigers win their round two match up to potentially draw a substate championship bout with Perry.

ADM’s first match up in substate action occurs on May 24th, and if they advance will take on the Substate 7 title game on May 27th in Perry.
