Three Panora residents have been charged with multiple counts for burglaries committed in the area. Panora Police Chief Matt Reising tells Raccoon Valley Radio eleven burglaries stretching back to March of this year have been investigated in an ongoing case that culminated with the execution of a search warrant at the Midway Motel in Guthrie Center May 2.

The burglaries the Panora Police Department was investigating were primarily cars, garages and storage units. Reising says most of the burglaries not require forced entry and that fact should be lesson to learn from.

“Sometimes out here in rural areas we think we don’t need to lock our doors, but it can still happen and we should still be careful.”

Jesse and Logan Gilliam and Krystin Marple were arrested following the May 2 search warrant executed for their van. Cash, credit cards, debit cards, tools, two handguns and other items that had been reported stolen were recovered by the search.

Both Gilliams were charged with eight counts of burglary and possession of stolen property. Marple was charged with possession of stolen property.
