Misty Ray has entered a plea of not-guilty on all charges related to the death of her adopted daughter, Sabrina Ray.
According to court documents, Misty pled not-guilty at her plea hearing Monday. She is scheduled to have her preliminary hearing on Thursday. Her husband, Marc Ray, who is also being charged in Sabrina’s death, has yet to enter a plea. Both are still in custody at the Dallas County jail, each held on $1 million cash-only bond.
On May 12th, the 16-year-old was found dead in the Ray’s home. Autopsy reports showed she appeared to be malnourished, weighing only 56 pounds at the time of her death. Misty and Marc, her adopted parents, were both arrested last week and face multiple charges that also relate to other neglected juveniles found in their home. The charges include: one count of child endangerment resulting in death, a class B felony; four counts of child endangerment resulting in serious injury, a class C felony; and three counts of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, a class C felony.
