The Iowa Insurance Division issued a settlement Monday with Two Rivers Insurance Company that will return $1.3 million to 33 public entities in Iowa. Guthrie County is among the groups to receive a settlement.

The investigation leading to the settlement centered on the Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan.  Two Rivers denied all wrongdoing as part of the settlement. The Iowa Insurance Division alleged that, beginning in 2005, Two Rivers artificially inflated premiums to more from the entities they were insuring.

Guthrie County will receive $21,551 in restitution from Two Rivers. The issue will be discussed at the next Guthrie County Supervisors regular meeting.
