Dallas County Extension is offering a program to help teach young adults about proper babysitting through a series of clinics in June.

The babysitting clinics are offered to boys and girls in 5th grade and above, and will take place at four locations around Dallas County. The first stop will be in Granger this Thursday and Friday, at the Granger Community Center. The next location will be Perry on Wednesday, June 7th and Thursday, June 8th at the Perry Town Craft Center. The following week, the babysitting clinic will pay a visit to Adel. Monday, June 12th and Tuesday, June 13th, the classes will be offered at the Adel Public Library. Finally, on Monday, June 26th and Tuesday, June 27th, it will be held in Van Meter at the Van Meter Legion Hall.

Each class will run from 9 a.m. – noon each day. Cost for the session in Granger is $25, while in Perry, Adel, and Van Meter it will be $20. Attendees will learn a variety of skills, from how to care for infants and young children, to appropriate activities and healthy snacks. Safety and emergency handling will be topics discussed by guest speakers, and they will also cover how to market your babysitting business.
