At the most recent Guthrie County Supervisors meeting, Sheriff Marty Arganbright shared concerns with the Supervisors regarding increasing jail capacity issues.
“If we don’t stay ahead of this thing there may come a time when we need to rely on Dallas County to house inmates.”
Dallas County recently passed a $22.9 million bond referendum to construct a new jail. Arganbright says many of the capacity issues with Guthrie County detention facilities is the need for special accommodations for violent prisoners, females and juveniles, groups that all require separate or special cells with regards to state regulations.
