DSCN6233The Blank Park Zoo visited six Greene County libraries last week.

At the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson, area residents got to see Samantha with the zoo show a parrot, salamander, hedgehog and a boxed turtle. She talked about how each animal is unique and how they utilize their attributes to survive and feed in their habitats. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark told Raccoon Valley Radio that she was once again impressed with the overall turnout.DSCN6232

“Oh we had a great event. We had over 200 people here. Parents, grandparents, friends, daycare providers and lots of boys and girls from the (Greene County) Early Learning Center, just a lot of families came out to see the Blank Park Zoo.”

She adds that each program the zoo did last week was free for anyone to enjoy.

DSCN6249“This is an amazing program. This is sponsored by the Greene County Board of Supervisors and the Greene County Library Association. And so the boys and girls and their families can see these animals. And she (Samantha) brought a nice variety of animals and just gave some great information about them. So it’s always so much fun to have them come.”

The Blank Park Zoo went to Jefferson, Scranton, Rippey, Grand Junction, Paton and Churdan last Wednesday and Friday.
