Sven Peterson

Sven Peterson has served as Perry’s City Administrator for the last two years, and the City Council felt the job he’s been doing warranted retaining him for another three years.

The City’s personnel committee reviewed his performance since he was hired in 2015, and they universally agreed he had done a great job. At their most recent meeting, the Council unanimously approved renewing Peterson’s contract, this time for a three-year period. Council Member Barb Wolling thought enough of his job performance that she asked if they could make it five years, though that wasn’t a possibility.

Peterson says he’s enjoyed his time working for the City, largely due to those around him. “It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing this for two years. I can’t decide if it seems like way longer or really short. Time has definitely flown by. A lot of that is due to some great staff that we’ve got for the City, as well as City Council and the mayor really supporting me through the last two years, and obviously hoping I stick around for another three years. Which I definitely plan on doing. So definitely exciting for me, and a milestone. Looking forward to continuing serving the community.”
