After losing to Class 3A number 11 PCM (Monroe) 6-0 in Jefferson on Monday night, and falling 13-3 in five innings by the 10-run rule to 4A number 11 ADM in Adel last night, the Greene County softball team returns home tonight. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams face 2A number 7 CMB (Maxwell) at the City diamond on East Lincolnway in Jefferson. The Rams lost 1-0 earlier this season in Collins, but out hit the Raiders, who are 15-4 overall and 10-1 in conference play. Greene County is 4-12 overall and 2-7 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.
The Rams had just three hits at ADM, one night after getting only one hit vs. PCM, and that was an infield safety. Jenna Beyers doubled vs. the Tigers, with singles from Megan Carey and Kassie Lamoureux. Megan Durbin had the lone run batted in for the Rams last night.
Tonight’s game with CMB will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. First pitch is scheduled for around 7:30 p.m.
