The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications to fill an opening for a deputy.

The Sheriff’s office is hoping to fill the position by September. Applications can be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office or printed online at guthriecounty.org on the Sheriff’s Office page. Applicants must meet minimum hiring standards set by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Council. Sheriff Marty Arganbright describes the requirements of the position.

“We will run the candidates through a physical fitness test and a post test and hopefully have somebody in the position by September.”

Completed applications must be received by noon on Friday, July 21st.
