At long last, the postseason wait for class 1A and 2A teams is over as the Iowa High School Athletic Association released their exact brackets for the 2017 baseball postseason yesterday.
In the realm of Panorama Panther baseball, their postseason path starts in Manning on July 8th up against host IKM-Manning. The host Wolverines currently rest at .500 with an 11-11 record with 3 games left in their regular season. Meanwhile the Panthers currently sit with a record of 3-14 entering into their final three games of the regular season.
The last time these two teams squared off was back in the 2012 season where Panorama came away with the 7-4 victory. The Panthers would certainly like to repeat that outcome in 2017 as they seek to get back to the state tournament for the first time since 1998.
Should Panorama win their round one contest, they would then head to Neola on Tuesday, July 11th to take on district 15’s top seeded team in Tri-Center.
As for today, the Panthers will be winding down with their regular season with two of their final three regular season games in a double header against West Central Valley in Stuart. Game one will start with first pitch at 5:00 pm.
