Christopher CliftonA Perry man was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court.

According to court documents, 56-year-old Christopher John Clifton was sentenced to two years of probation after he pled guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor for possession of meth. He was originally charged with a felony for this third or subsequent offense of possession of meth, but court documents show the charge was changed to a misdemeanor.

The probation sentence stems from an incident on April 10th. Jefferson Police received a call from Wild Rose security staff about a baggy they recovered on the casino floor that contained meth. Police reviewed the video surveillance and saw the baggy fall out of Clifton’s coat.

Clifton was also ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines, court costs, attorney fees and surcharges.
