It was quite the low scoring contest last night between the ADM baseball team hosting Ballard in a game that totaled 3 runs off of five hits.
For the Tigers, they would prevail thanks to a Nick Lindgren walk off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to give ADM the 2-1 victory.
The Tigers ended the night with two runs off of just three hits, four errors, and seven runners left on base meanwhile Ballard out hit the Tigers scraping across their lone run off of five hits while committing 2 errors and leaving 7 runners on base.
With just eight combined hits there wasn’t much to show for both teams through the first six innings although Ballard did strike for an early lead in the second inning off of two hits and an ADM error. Ballard and ADM would trade 0’s on the scoreboard all the way up to the 7th inning where ADM would put on some late game heroics.
Down by one the Tigers would scrape across their first run on a fielders choice by Kinnick Sutton to draw the game even. Four batters later after Dalton Hews advanced Sutton over to third on a single, it was junior Nick Lindgren to play the role of hero by sending a pitch to center field deep enough for a sacrifice fly and the win.
Although Lindgren gave late game fireworks for ADM he was not one of the three Tiger batters to record a hit which belonged spread out in the line up. The spread included lead-off batter Dalton Hews, number three batter Kade Overton, and the number nine batter Kinnick Sutton.
On the mound Dalton Hews would get credited with the win after 6 solid innings of work giving up four hits, no earned runs, while tossing five strikeouts in the process.
