May’s unemployment rates saw a slight increase in each of our counties in the Raccoon River Valley area.

According to the Iowa Workforce Development, Greene County had the largest increase from April 0.3-percent to 3-percent in May. Dallas and Guthrie counties each saw a 0.1-percent increase in May from April at 2-percent for Dallas and 3.2-percent for Guthrie.

Iowa’s unemployment rates remained stagnant from April to May at 3.1-percent. The percentage of people without a job in May are still better in all three of our counties compared to the national unemployment rate of 4.3-percent.
