The nomination filing period for this year’s school board directors elections in Dallas County is coming soon.

Starting Monday, July 10th, prospective or current school board members throughout the County can begin filing their nomination papers. Districts with soon-to-be available seats on their boards include: Perry, where two seats are up for election, and the signatures of at least 50 eligible electors of the district are required on nomination petitions; Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, where two seats are up for election, and 50 signatures are needed; West Central Valley, where one seat is up for election, and 42 signatures are needed; and Woodward-Granger, where five seats are available, with 36 signatures needed.

In all cases, the candidates must reside within the school district. Potential candidates will have until 5 p.m. on August 3rd to file their nomination papers in the office of their school board secretary. Packets are available from the school board secretary, the Dallas County Auditor’s Office, and at the Secretary of State’s website. A link to the website can be found below.
