Non-conference home games tonight and tomorrow night are all that’s on the Greene County High School baseball schedule this week. Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams are 11-11 overall and are on a four-game winning streak, all against teams with winning records. Ogden plays at Allensworth Field in Jefferson tonight and the Bulldogs bring a 14-13 mark into the contest. South Central Calhoun (Lake City) started this week with a record of 11-12 and the Titans visit Allensworth Field on Thursday.

Coach Sawhill was asked where a winning season ranked on the start of the season list of goals. “I think you always have that high on your list, but showing improvement from the start of the season to the end is probably more important, and I think we’ve done that again.” The 2016 Rams were 11-16, but won eight of their last 11 contests. This years’s Green County team was 7-11 before putting four wins in a row together.

Ram softball in Class 3A Region 3 play at Cherokee will be broadcast tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with first pitch at 7 p.m.
