The 2017 Casey Fun Days is in full swing today. The theme for this year is “Building a Great 50048.”
The festivities started yesterday with the Casey Fire Department’s bags tournament, and the drive-in movie “Gulliver’s Travels.” Today the events continue throughout the morning and evening. The Fun Run/Walk is at 7:30 a.m., and the pancake breakfast at the Visitor’s Center is at 8 a.m. Baked goods provided by the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will be available in front of the Beauty Boutique starting at 9 a.m., while mini doughnuts will be sold on Main Street.
Other events include the announcement of the Citizens of the Year and Distinguished Service awards, the kid’s parade, the Fun Days parade, the farmers market at Rutt Park, the pedal tractor pull, and water fights. Later in the day is the debut performance of the Bud Harris Alumni Band, which will perform during the pie contest. The day will conclude at the Casey Fire Hall for refreshments at the Beer Garden, as well as a performance by the band Off the Cuff.
Proceeds throughout the day will go towards the Casey Volunteer Fire Department.
