The Guthrie County Conservation Department will be hosting a hunter education class later this month.
A hunter education class is required for anyone who is looking to purchase a new hunting license in Iowa. The Department of Natural Resources sponsors the free classes, which are typically about 12 to 15 hours in length. To receive certification, an individual must attend all sessions and pass a final exam. Once an individual receives their certificate, it is valid for life and can be used anywhere in the state. Individuals that qualify must be born after January 1, 1972.
The class will be held at the Guthrie County Conservation board room at 206 West South Street in Panora. It will be from 9am to 4pm on Thursday, July 20th and from 9am to 1pm on Friday, July 21st. Participants are asked to bring a lunch with them for Thursday’s class.
