Greene County High School football players resume summer workouts in the coming days. Head Coach Mitch Moore explained the schedule to Raccoon Valley Radio. “We gave them a break for the Fourth of July week, so now we’re going to start exactly how we went in June. We’re going to go Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. until 8:30 with strength and conditioning, change of direction, linear speed, and of course, some football. In about three weeks camp will start and football season will be here.”
The first year Greene County coach was asked how much he can learn about his players without actually having seen them in person pads playing the game. “I can tell we’ve really got some guys who love to compete. We’ve got some guys who have started to define themselves as leaders, and then we have some skills guys. If we can get them in space I think we can have some success. Offensively, we could be okay, we really could.”
The Rams open the 2017 season on Friday, August 25 at Linduska Field in Jefferson by hosting the Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) Knights.
