The Guthrie Center City Council met Monday night in regular session.
The Council discussed the City’s fireworks ordinance. The ordinance states that fireworks are illegal within city limits. Organizations can apply for a permit through the City in order to shoot off fireworks, though the ordinance doesn’t allow for individuals to apply for a permit. All permits are then subject to approval by the Council. City Administrator Laura Wolf says the Council doesn’t intend to change the fireworks ordinance.
The Council then approved a salvage bid from Jeanne Willms for $201.50 for a vacant property at 207 North 7th Street.
Finally, the Council discussed park rehabilitation projects from the parks and recreation board with the contractor MSA.
