The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday in regular session.
The Board heard an update from County Conservation Director Joe Hanner. He said the hunter safety education class that’s happening later this month is completely full. He mentioned that the final three crossings on the Raccoon River Valley Trail will start later this month.
The Board then approved two fireworks permits for Dan Readinger and Patrick Lutz. The Board tabled their decision on the trash collection contract, partially self-funded health plan, reallocating Darcia Robson’s salary with the environmental health department and a telephone line request for the disability services coordinator position with regional mental health.
The Board then discussed the transfer station work logs and projects. The Board suggested to discontinue employees filling out time tracking sheets. Only one bid came in to replace the main window at the transfer station and the Board will look at that bid at a later date. The Board will also look into replacing part of a cement floor in one of the buildings at the site, along with repairing the retaining wall. The Board is also working on a job description for the leadership role of the transfer station following the passing of the late Stephen Patterson.
The Board then reviewed the 2017 zoning permits and the Safety Solutions LLP report.
Finally, the Board approved the County Auditor to switch payroll from warrants to checks, the county employee salaries and wages for the 2018 fiscal year, a payroll change notice for the secondary roads department, and a request from a sheriff’s deputy to transfer his remaining sick leave for an injured deputy to use. The County Auditor’s quarterly report of fees was also approved.
