Greene County ExtensionGreene County Extension is offering a free family literacy program to help youngsters improve their reading skills.

The “Family Storyteller” program is geared toward kids ages three- to five-year-olds and their parents or guardians to learn different reading skills and strategies together. Participants will receive reading activities to do at home, learn the value of reading, practice different skills and receive six free books.

The program will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays for three weeks starting July 18th through August 3rd. Each class starts at 5:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. A meal will be provided for participating families. The program is free, but registration is required. Call 386-2138 or stop by the Extension office to sign up.
