As the dust has officially settled on the 2017 softball campaign for all West Central Activities Conference members, the All-Conference selections have been released.
For the West Central Valley Wildcats and coach Coy Hupfeld, there are two individuals who have been bestowed the honors of all conference selections.
Both selections were honorable mentions in junior Taylor Beane and sophomore Abby Speichinger. Beane was the leader on the field for the Lady Wildcats leading West Central Valley in batting average at .435 and slugging percentage at .754. Beane was also the teams RBI leader with a count of 19 while also adding in one home run. The talented junior amassed 30 hits on the year broken down into 12 singles, 15 doubles, 2 triples, and 1 home run. Taylor also put some time inside the circle posting 15 strikeouts in 42 innings of work.
West Central Valley’s second all conference selection, Abby Speichinger, was very prominent in the Lady Wildcat batting order as well in 2017. The skilled sophomore hit .413 at the plate this season with 8 RBI’s while leading the team in on base percentage with a mark of .507. Speichinger had 26 hits total broken down into 20 singles, 3 doubles, 2 triples, and one home run.
Again, there were to Lady Wildcats earning all conference selections as sophomore Abby Speichinger, and junior Taylor Beane received honorable mention honors for the 2017 season.
