As the baseball campaign turns will into the offseason for Panorama baseball, head coach Brian Bahrenfuss will have his marching orders for his team as they look to improve for 2018.

Every team goes through the need to improve in some fashion but the biggest focus of improvement coach Bahrenfuss told Raccoon Valley Radio, is something that Panorama has already improved upon throughout the season.

“From an offensive standpoint early on in the season we were striking out a lot and that doesn’t put much pressure on the defense. As we went throughout the season we did see improvement there where we were minimizing out strikeouts and getting more hits and that’s just going to come with seeing more pitching. I go back to the beginning of the year after the first couple games, Levi Richey a sophomore is like “coach we need to see more pitching” and I feel things got better as the season went on. I’d say Levi is an example of what the other guys saw as well; they’ll need to see more pitching as we saw some improvements,” stated coach Bahrenfuss.

Panorama did see gradual improvement and it showed in areas other than strikeouts as the team put up 43 total runs through the first half of the season while upping that to 55 runs through the final half of the season. Coach Bahrenfuss also notated that it was hard for the Panthers to hit the ground running early  due to the fact that sharing athletes with the spring sports caused some of the athletes to bloom later in the season.
