The ninth annual River Ruckus in Guthrie Center kicks off tomorrow.
Organizer Grant Sheeder says there are a few tickets left for the three days of entertainment at the fairgrounds. Thursday features a free concert with Cody Hicks and Casey Muessigmann at 7pm, south of the grandstands. Friday’s show includes Joe Nichols, Colt Ford and Casey Muessigmann. Saturday’s headliner is Toby Keith, along with Granger Smith, Clare Dunn and Jeremy McComb. Sheeder points out that hundreds of people have already arrived for the concerts.
“We’ve got about 400 campers here (at the fairgrounds) with about another 700-ish to come. So the sooner you can get here and park your camper for sure, the better off everyone is. I’d say for parking, if you’re here a few hours before, I mean there’s going to be stuff going on the campgrounds and out and around. The earlier the better, I guess.”
Entering their ninth year, Sheeder describes his favorite part of River Ruckus.
“Probably the fans, I guess. That’s probably been the most rewarding thing is people coming. Like I said, we can’t do it without them. And having the artists is just a bonus with the people that we have. You go to other festivals that I’ve personally been to, just so many nice people here.”
