The new school year is on the horizon, and for some families that creates some anxiety from how they’ll buy school supplies.
However, the Guthrie County Hospital is partnering with three local businesses to host a “Back to School Supply Drive and BBQ.” The event will be held tomorrow in front of Schreiber Family Chiropractic in Panora from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. They will be accepting both school supply and monetary donations to help support students at each school in the county. In exchange for a donation, you will be treated to a meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, and a variety of sides.
Michelle Benner with the GCH Panora Clinic has helped organize the event, and she explains why they’re hosting the supply drive. “Well, we feel it’s important to have an event like this, because there’s some families that can’t afford to get school supplies. So this gives us the opportunity to help out all the schools in our county.”
In addition to the GCH Panora Clinic and Schreiber Chiropractic, the event is also being sponsored by St. Croix Hospice and Edward Jones.
