Another day in late July gone by, and another finale party for the Perry Public Library’s “Build a Better World” summer reading program.
Tomorrow at 7 p.m., those who signed up for the young adult reading program are invited to the library for a night filled with fun and excitement. The event will be a lock-in, so those attending should plan on being there all night. Deputy Library Director Misty VonBehren organized the program, and she’s excited for one aspect of the event in particular. “The kids will be able to come in, and we’re going to do an escape room. So they’ll be able to do the escape room challenge, and figure out a way to get out. We’ll also do our grand prize drawings at that point in time.”
An escape room is where participants are locked into a room with puzzles and clues hidden throughout the area. The object is to solve all the puzzles and escape the room before time runs out. In addition to that and the grand prize drawing for an Amazon Kindle Fire, there will also be food and other games. All teens registered for the summer reading program are invited to attend.
