Each year after the high school sports calendar reaches its end, the Des Moines Register ranks all Iowa high school athletic programs in their annual All-Sports Standings.

For ADM high school, their athletic program was placed in a 6 way tie for 28th place. The All-Sports standings are based on a point system and the Tigers’ 28th place was a result of 8 points. Those 8 points were broken down into a few highlights for ADM which included a run in the state cross country meet for Sadie Juergens, two state crowns for Keaton Kester in the girls 3A 100 & 200 meter dash events, and two state wrestling tournament births for soon to be juniors Andrew Flora and Nolan Harsh.

The All-Sports standings points system covers how many sports earned a state tournament birth and their end placement in their respective tournaments. A state title team receives 10 points while a runner up receives 8 points, followed by third place teams earning 6 points all the way down to 8th place earning one point.

The standings were also divided up into school sizes starting with the Large Sized schools with 800 or more students, followed by medium sized schools with 250-799 students, and rounded out with small sized schools with up to 349 total students.

Once again, ADM high school end up with a tie for 28th in the 2016-17 Iowa high school All-Sports Standings.
