Perry girls basketball coach Chris Morrow will hold open gyms this week from 5 to 6 every night.

Perry girls basketball coach Chris Morrow is excited to begin his first full week on the job as the Jayettes get back to the court after a month of summer inactivity due to a coaching change.  Morrow will hold open gyms starting tonight and run through Friday from 5 to 6 at the high school.  The hiring process was a speedy one and Morrow said it came down to one connection.

“I had coached Mr Marburger’s daughter in AAU so he reached out to me to see if I was interested in the job.  I went through the interview process and got the call last Monday telling me that they wanted me to be the next head coach.  I was so thankful and am looking forward to getting started here in Perry.”

This will be Morrow’s first varsity high school basketball coaching job but indicated he has been involved at a number of levels at the elite AAU level and junior varsity and younger ranks.

KDLS Sports Director Shawn Kenney sat down with the newest Jayette and will feature excerpts from the interview over the next couple of weeks.  Topics will range on what fans can expect from his coaching style, to the biggest challenges coming from AAU ball.  Be listening to the Raccoon Valley Radio Network and check out our popular website raccoonvalleyradio.com for a complete archive of the interview.
