Today marks T-minus three days until fall sports gets their shot at 2017 with first practices starting on August 7th.

This will officially mark the second full year of ACGC sports after the combining of Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center. Last year it was the fall sports to bring ACGC athletics to light with varying levels of success across the board. The biggest highlight came on the cross country course which gave way to the class 1A individual champion in Kate Crawford and a third place state meet finish for the Charger boys squad. Once again, the Charger cross country program is spearheaded by Collin Shawgo, now in his fifth year at the head coaching helm for the Chargers.

ACGC volleyball looks to continue their improvement from last year’s 15-12 season. The Lady Chargers bring back a good core nucleus that includes last year’s kills/aces leader MaKayla Hoing, not to mention assists leader Madylin Smith and blocks leader Savanna Fuller. This returning core will be under new direction this year as Lyndsey Noe replaces John Jones as head coach.

The Charger football team will come back recharged and ready to take on 2017 after a rough year last season. A lot of improvement was shown as the Chargers made the jump from 8-man football to 11-man football. The Chargers return the man under center in quarterback Bryce Littler and last year’s tackles leader Nate Schiller. Leading the charge for ACGC football will once again be Mark McDermott for his 5th season at the head coaching helm.
