bAW1wSDlThe Perry volleyball program will take on a different look this year as John Fulton replaces Kristel Kautzky-Schultz as the varsity head coach.  Fulton worked for Kautzky-Schultz last year as the freshman coach and brings both passion and experience to the job.

“This will be my 6th year of coaching volleyball and I had a great time working with the kids last year and was excited to build on the program when I found out that the head coaching job was going to be open.”

Fulton served as the head coach of Graettinger-Terril for 2 years and is currently the club coach for Dowling Catholic.  However, he discovered the sport through random circumstances.

“It really was a random series of events.  When I was offered my first teaching job, there was an assistant volleyball position open so I took it.  The more I learned the more I enjoyed it.  It was such an exciting sport to watch and coach that I decided I wanted to be a part of it.”

Fulton and the Jayettes will hold their first official practice Monday, August 7th.  Be listening for more of Shawn Kenney’s interview with Coach John Fulton over the next couple of weeks.
