The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library are hosting a one-day used book sale and more on Saturday.
It will be held from 9am to 1pm in the library basement. There will be used books, teacher educational resources and materials, DVDs, games, toys, t-shirts and puzzles for sale. It is free to attend the sale. Library Director Jane Millard says this is the first time the Friends have done something like this right before the school year starts.
“The reason they came up with this idea is we have an unusually large volume, or inventory, of children’s materials. And so they wanted to share that as everyone is getting ready for their kids to go back to school, doing their shopping, getting them registered for school and so on. It doesn’t cost a lot to buy these items and it really supports the library.”
All proceeds will go back to the Friends for equipment purchases for the library to use.
