The Springbrook State Park is hosting a day of fun for families today, highlighted by the smoker and Dutch oven contest and potluck.

The contest will start at 6 p.m., though all entries must be received by 5:45 p.m. at the gazebo. There are categories for meat dish, side dish, and dessert. Prizes will be awarded for each category and participants can enter all three. The winners will be decided by popular vote, and votes may be cast by anyone entering a homemade item into the contest or the potluck meal. However, contestants cannot vote for their own entries, and voters must taste all entries in a category prior to making their decision.

There is no cost to enter the contest and potluck, though guests wishing to participate in the potluck must bring a dish to share. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Springbrook State Park.
