welcome centerThomas Jefferson Gardens’ new series of programs has hit the halfway point.

Their “Tuesday Talks” focus on a unique topic that is informational in nature. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunches to the Thomas Jefferson Gardens Education and Welcome Center on the southeast corner of the downtown square in Jefferson. The programs are held every Tuesday through September 5th.

The next program is Lisa Swanson and Donna Miller from Des Moines talking about mini hostas on August 15th. Then on August 22nd will be Linda and Dave Walker with their topic of fairy gardens. Michael Reese will discuss the history of Greene County on August 29th. The final program is on September 5th with Tony Pille presenting the topic “Farm to Fork.”

It starts at noon each Tuesday. There is a $5 admission charge. You can also reserve a boxed lunch from Angie’s Teagarden for $10. Reservations for a boxed lunch must be made the Monday prior to the program. Call the welcome center at 386-2373 or stop by to reserve a meal.
