The City of Scranton will be a busy place today.

The day starts with the sixth annual tractor ride at 8am. Participants will leave from the community center and head down to Bayard and Guthrie Center, before returning to the community center by 4pm.

Then there is a park dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony from 4 to 4:30pm. The City will dedicate their new playground equipment as the “Scranton School Memorial Park.” A variety of food will then be served from 5 to 6pm. There will also be a display of projects to improve the City’s landscape along the roadways with grant funds provided by the Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program. The displays will be near the park from 4:30 to 6pm.

All activities are free and open to the public.
