The waiting period gets smaller and smaller for the first football game of the season for ADM Tiger football with their season opener this Friday night.
The 2017 season will be a year filled with various new faces after the loss of 18 seniors and at least 13 starters from last year and some new faces in the coaching ranks. But regardless of some new personnel, ADM football will still be a hard working, dedicated, and as coach Mike Whisner mentioned to Raccoon Valley Radio, a fast team.
“I’d say the strength that I see is we’re really quick. We’re not real big but the strength is we’re quick both offensively and defensively,” stated coach Whisner.
ADM would like to utilize that speed and agility to keep a ten year trend in their favor which would be to gain a win in the season opener. Out of the last ten seasons, Tiger football has opened up the season with a win 6 times. In order to keep the trend going they will have to defeat the Mustangs of Dallas Center-Grimes with a little extra pressure this season. Although the Mustangs have taken the W the last four seasons straight, this Friday night will be the ten year tie breaker with both ADM and Dallas Center-Grimes having 5 wins a piece through the last 10 seasons.
You can catch the tie breaking action this Friday night on K107.9 FM and streamed online at raccoonvalleyradio.com with kick off set for 7:30 pm.
