The ADM volleyball Tigers were in action last night opening up the season in Grimes as part of an 8 team invitational.

The scene took place at DC-G Meadows Gym and for the Lady Tigers, when all was said and done, they came out with a split for the day loosing two games while winning two games.

The Lady Tigers were unable to extract early revenge over the host Fillies after loosing to Dallas Center-Grimes, one of two losses on the night. ADM split the night by taking two wins and officially setting their record at 2-2 at the moment.

The loss against DC-G came in two sets for ADM loosing both matches by a 21-17 final. The second loss on the night for ADM came at the hands of Des Moines Roosevelt in three sets. The Lady Rough Riders took set one 21-13 while ADM came back to take set number two 21-16 before falling in set number three 15-10.

ADM’s two victories on the night came against Nodaway Valley and class 5A’s Southeast Polk. Both victories came in two sets and with the match up against Nodaway Valley, the Lady Tigers came out to early leads in both sets winning easily 21-9 and 21-10.  The victory against Southeast Polk came by much closer margins winning 21-12 in set number one while a barn burner took place in set number two with ADM coming out on top 24-22.

ADM now marches on with a 2-2 record before their next match up arrives which will be a week from yesterday which will be their home opener up against Creston Community beginning at 7:00 pm.
