After the excitement of their season opener last Tuesday, the ADM volleyball Tigers are back on the prowl tomorrow for their home opener up against Creston Community.
It’ll be the third time in over 10 years that the Lady Tigers and the Lady Panthers have squared off on the volleyball hardwood; the prior two have come in the last two seasons where ADM has taken the victory both years. As for tomorrow’s third match up, ADM will enter with a season opening invitational under their belts and a 2-2, meanwhile tomorrow will be the season opener for Creston.
Last year’s match up was a barn burner in which ADM had to come back after their early lead was matched by Creston to take the final set by a slim margin. The Lady Tigers will most likely see a match quite similar tomorrow, although this year they’ve had great practice with a come from behind win against class 5A’s Southeast Polk in their season opener.
Raccoon Valley Radio caught up with ADM head volleyball coach Mary Beth Scott to talk about her thoughts from that come from behind win and what it displayed about her team.
“It showed a lot of character. I don’t like it when we come from behind, you know it makes it hard on our team, but I loved the fact that they were able to battle through and didn’t give up and again Southeast Polk did a good job of trying to force us to make the mistakes and any time we can beat a 5A school that just helps with our confidence,” smiled coach Scott.
ADM will make their way back into a 4A match up with Creston tomorrow as the Lady Tigers and the Lady Panthers square off in Adel with first serve at 7:00 pm.
