Although there was lots of energy surrounding the home opener for West Central Valley volleyball last night, the Lady Wildcats were unable to pull out the win loosing to Woodward Granger in three sets 25-15. 25-13, and 25-7.
The reigning conference champs Woodward-Granger made it difficult for the Lady Wildcats to do much offensively or defensively. West Central Valley had just four aces on the night, all belonging to junior star Madison Waddell. Sophomore Sydney Neal led the way for West Central Valley in kills with four. With scoring hard to come by so was the assist category which was led by last years team assist leader Abigial Speichenger totaling 6 assists against the Lady Hawks.
The Lady Wildcats have the night off tonight but will be back in action with a road trip tomorrow in Glidden against non conference foe Glidden-Ralston beginning at 7:000 pm. Also tomorrow will the be home opener for the Wildcat cross country teams with a 10 team field for the girls and an 11 team field for the boys. Both meets are scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm.
