West Central Valley put their heart and soul into their week one thriller against ACGC. That performance begs to wonder if they have enough in the tank for week two. They’ll find out tonight as the Wildcats battle the Saydel Eagles.
These two sides met last year in Stuart. Quarterback TJ Stephenson led the Eagles to a 45-7 victory with stellar performances through the air and on the ground. Stephenson threw for 160 yards, rushed for 85, and added a passing and rushing touchdown.
The Wildcat defense will have to step up their rush defense efforts in order to come out on top. Last year the Wildcats allowed 230 rushing yards against the Eagles, and allowed over 250 against the Chargers last week.
Brock Wolfe was an irreplaceable asset in the week one win over the Chargers, hauling in six catches for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately for West Central Valley, they are up against a formidable pass defense. The Eagles have allowed just 55.5 passing yards per game.
Saydel is 2-0 to start the season, defeating Colfax-Mingo and Clarke out of Osceola. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
