acgcWhile the ACGC Charger football and Lady Charger volleyball teams recorded spotlight wins last week, the ACGC Lady Charger cross country team stealthly won their second tournament of the season. The Lady Chargers claimed the victory at the Madrid Invitational.

Leading the way for the Lady Chargers this season is Kate Crawford who won her second individual race in a row in Madrid. Crawford ran the race in a time 20 minutes, 26 seconds. Teammate Emma Swanson finished in second, just 14 seconds behind Crawford. This is also the second consecutive week Crawford and Swanson finished in the top two places. Fellow Chargers Lauryn Embleton and Rylee Sloss placed fourth and seventh respectively.  ACGC placed eight runners in the top 20 and finished with 28 points, 20 points clear of the host Madrid in second place.

The boys competition was much closer as the top four teams were separated by just 12 points. Charger Noah Nelson came in second with a time of 17 minutes and 25 seconds. Clay Billheimer finished in fourth with a time of 18 minutes and 11 seconds, and fellow teammates Garrett Young and Quenton Spack also finished in the top 20. The Charger boys came in fourth overall, finishing with 64 points, two shy of third place Woodward-Granger. Ogden won the meet with 56 points.

The Invitational featured seven teams on the boys side and five on the girls side. Both teams will participate in the Greene County Invitational on Thursday.
