The deadline to vote by absentee for next week’s school board elections is fast approaching.
Greene County voters have until tomorrow to request an absentee ballot. All absentee ballots must be postmarked by Monday, September 11th to be officially counted. As of Tuesday morning, the Greene County Auditor’s office had 35 absentee ballots requested and 31 have been submitted. Eligible voters can also vote by absentee at the county auditor’s office until election day. Anyone who has an absentee ballot has until 8pm on Election Day to drop them off at the county auditor’s office.
There are four candidates running for three available seats on the seven-member Greene County School Board. Additionally, there are two individuals running for three seats on the Paton-Churdan School Board, and there’s one individual running to fill a vacancy.
Absentee ballots are available at the county auditor’s office during regular hours from 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
