Coach Donna Carhill’s Greene County High School varsity volleyball team opened the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference portion of the schedule with a win in three straight sets over Saydel in Des Moines. Scores were 25-13, 25-22, 25-18. The Rams improve to 4-3 overall in matches and 10-6 in sets.
Coach Carhill reports Megan Durbin had 16 kills, was 21 of 23 serving, and had 11 digs. Samantha Hardaway was 15 of 15 serving and also had 10 kills. Chantel Flack had 12 digs, and Aubrey Heupel led in assists with 27.
“This is a great way to start our conference season. I though we showed tenacity in our second game as we came back from a five-point deficit to win that game. All-in-all, it was a good win for us as we dive into our season,” the coach commented.
The Rams play in the South Hardin Tournament tomorrow in Eldora.
