WCV (1)One running back going over 100 yards in a game is impressive. Having two 100 yard rushers in a game is outstanding. Three 100 yard rushers in the same game on the same team seems almost impossible. Yet last Friday three Eagle Grove Eagles notched over 100 yards rushing on their way to a 41-20 victory against West Central Valley.

Senior quarterback Brayden Lyman led the way for the Eagles with 114 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries. Lyman also had 68 yards passing, including a 33 yard touchdown to senior John Mosley. Seniors Evan Anderson and Nikolas Padilla also reached the century mark. Anderson toted the football 22 times on his way to 105 yards and a touchdown, while Padilla tallied 100 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

The Wildcats simply couldn’t keep up, despite Brock Wolfe’s two touchdowns. Carson Wadle threw a solid 212 yards passing and two touchdowns. But his three interceptions hurt the Wildcat offense. On a positive note, Cole Arnburg hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season, totalling 2 catches for 46 yards.

The Wildcats look to get back on track as they host the Madrid Tigers on Friday.
