At last Friday’s Chamber Coffee event, the Perry Chamber of Commerce held a special check presentation for Relay for Life of Northern Dallas County.

The money was from the Perry Cruise Car Show in August, where participants were asked to donate $10 as an entry fee. Board member Dave Wright organized the car show, and said they had over 100 cars participate, the largest number in the show’s history. They also held a bake sale at the show, and the two combined yielded the Chamber’s biggest donation to date for the cause. Wright presented a check of $1,000 to Relay for Life organizer Gary Iles and the Rowley Masonic Community.

Relay for Life is the biggest source of funding for the American Cancer Society, with events held throughout the United States. The Perry event will be held on September 23rd from 4-9:30 p.m. at the Perry High School track. To sign up to participate, or for more information, click the link below.
