10th ranked Boone scored 35 unanswered points Friday night to defeat Perry 41-7 in Class 3A District 2 football action in Boone.  Perry carried a 7-6 lead into the second quarter only to see Boone put together two long drives to go into halftime leading 20-7.  The Toreadors put the game away early in the third quarter with two Perry turnovers including a  25 yard interception return by sophomore cornerback Qualli Sporaa.  Sporaa ended up with two interceptions on the night as Perry turned the ball over four times.

Perry’s lone offense came in the special teams department when Reese Dunlap returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score to give Perry an early 7-6 lead.  Trailing 12-7, the Bluejays threatened to take the  lead midway through the second quarter as they pushed inside the Boone redzone but Garrido was picked off by Sporaa in the front of the endzone to turn away the scoring chance.

Boone senior quarter Mason Hulse carried the Toreador offense like he has all season.  He led the Toreadors with 149 rushing yards and one score to go along with 2 two touchdown tosses through the air.  Perry managed only 57 yards of total offense with a negative yard rushing as a team.  Brandon Kenyon led the receiving unit with four receptions.

The Perry defense played hard in the first half but was simply on the field too much.  Perry took only 3 offensive snaps in the first quarter.  Cole Synder and Ethan McFarland recorded back to back sacks to end the second quarter.

Perry falls to 1-3 and 0-2 in district play while Boone stays perfect at 4-0 and 2-0 in district play.  Perry will host Dallas Center Grimes in homecoming action next Friday night.
