Emergency crews responded Sunday afternoon to a medical call on the banks of the Raccoon River west of Perry.

The Perry Police Department confirmed they received a call about a 60-year-old woman who was reportedly fishing when she suddenly required medical attention. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the woman unresponsive. Due to the difficulty of getting emergency vehicles to the site, the Mercy One air ambulance was called to the scene. The woman was taken to the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, and her current condition is unknown.

The Perry First Responders, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, and Dallas County EMS all responded to the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it’s made official.
