Dallas County Hospital in Perry recently announced their newest team member, “MARTTI.”

MARTTI stands for My Accessible Real-Time Trusted Interpreter, which is a program that seeks to improve the lines of communication between patients and providers. It contains over 230 languages, including American sign language, and will provide 24-hour video or audio remote interpreting. MARTTI will be able to track which hospital department and language have the strongest need for interpretation at the Perry facility, which will increase patient-physician communication and improve on it.

CEO of Dallas County Hospital, Angela Mortoza, believes the service will help reduce anxiety for patients, while giving physicians a better understanding of the patient’s needs and symptoms.
