The City of Casey is looking to revitalize its downtown. Last Sunday the Casey Service Club kick-started efforts to make Casey more appealing with a Free Sunday in the Park event. The concert featured Des Moines musician Damon Dotson.

The crowd of about 75 was treated to a beautiful sunny day as they listened to music and enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and beverages. Plus there was a raffle and all donations went towards downtown restoration projects. The Casey Service Club has a list of several improvements they would like to see.  At the top of that list is purchasing a new sound system and installing a courtyard at the Visitor Center.
