An estimated crowd of four hundred people gathered Wednesday night at the Raccoon Valley Bank plaza to enjoy the homecoming parade and post parade festivities.  After the parade route made its way to the Raccoon Valley Bank Plaza, parade goers were greeted by food, music and celebration.  Hy-Vee and Tyson donated food for a free will offering dinner while Raccoon Valley Radio provided the services of the Big Red Radio for music and stage microphones.  There were a number of speakers on the night in the plaza including Perry superintendent Clark Wicks, Perry mayor Jay Pattee and current Perry school board member and former Bluejay and Iowa State Cyclone Casey Baldwin.  Emily Leslie welcomed everyone on behalf of the Perry Chamber of Commerce who was in charge of organizing the event.  The rally finished with comments from Perry coaches and senior captain Alexis Garrido.

“I think it is really important for the kids to see the type of love and support that the community showed last night,” said Perry Head Coach Matt Hardy.  “I know our kids really appreciated it and hopefully we can represent the town tomorrow night in the game.”

Homecoming festivities continue tonight with the coronation and pep rally.  Raccoon Valley Radio will carry both events live on the radio tonight including interviews with this year’s court.
